Blogging is an exciting and dynamic medium by which you can publish your ideas, opinions, and stories online. It is a place to express yourself to the world. A place to share your thoughts and your passion.

A blog is a website that consists of a frequently updated collection of information and entries. Most blogs focus on a particular topic or subject area, although in a majority of blogs the ‘subject’ is the person writing the blog. The entries that appear on a blog are called posts, and the act of publishing a blog is called posting. A single person who maintains many blogs is known as a blogger.

The term blogosphere refers to the worldwide collection of blogs. There are over 100 million blogs on the web; you can read what others have published.

A blog that contains video is sometimes called a video blog or vlog.

A microblog allows users to publish short messages, usually between 100 and 200 characters, for others to read.

Some of the main blog hosting services are Blogger (www.blogger.com), TypePad (www.typepad.com), and Twitter (www.twitter.com)

USES OF BLOG

• Similar to an editorial section in a newspaper, blogs reflect the interests, opinions, and
• personalities of the blogger, and sometimes website visitors. Blogs have become an important means of worldwide communications.
• Businesses create blogs to communicate with employees, customers, and vendors. They may post announcements of new information on a corporate blog.
• Teachers create blogs to collaborate with other teachers and students.
• Home users create blogs to share aspects of their personal lives with family and friends.

CREATING A BLOG

Follow the given steps to create a blog:

• Open Blogger
• Click on "Create Your Blog"

Google Sign In page will appear

• Type Your Login ID and Password.

Your Login ID is same as that of your Gmail account.

• Click on Next button.

Create Your Blog window appears.

• Give a name to your blog. This name will be displayed in each page of your blog.
• Give your blog a matching URL. The extension of this URL will be .blogspot.com. The URL will be in a form of https://youraddress.blogspot.com, where your address will be the address you typed
• Type the author of the blog. Type your real name.

INTRODUCTION TO TABS

• Posts Tab : In posts tab, you can see all your posts that you have written.
• Stats Tab : In stats tab, you can see the traffic of your blog. You can view the complete analytics of your blog.
• Comments Tab : In comments tab, you can see all the comments for your blog.
• Earnings Tab : In earnings tab, you can connect your google AdSense account and earn money by placing Ads on your blog.
• Pages Tab : In pages tab, you can make pages like About Us or Contact Us for your blog.
• Layout Tab : In layout tab, you can customize the layout of your blog.
• Theme Tab : In theme tab, you can choose the theme which you want to apply to your blog. By default you will see all the themes for blogger. You can apply a custom theme also.
• Settings Tab : In the settings tab, you can mage the settings of your blog.

WRITING AND PUBLISHIN A POST

• Go to posts tab.
• click on new post.
• Give a catchy title to your post.
• Upload an image by clicking on the image icon on the top. You can upload a video also by clicking on the video icon on the top.
• Write your post.
• In right side, you will see Labels. You can give labels to your blog. In blogger, labels work as the category of the post.
• In the top right corner, you will see publish button. Click on Publish. Your post will be published.

Like this you can add more posts to your blog.
